Redeemed, How I Love To Proclaim It!

March 20th, 2021 – Saturday Morning

“Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion…” ~Psalm 103:4

What a wonderful truth for those who have found their refuge and fortress in the Lord Jesus Christ! This verse is in the middle of some of David’s descriptions of the actions of God on behalf of His people, but how true it is today for we who have been redeemed through Jesus’ death. God has rescued us from hell and destruction and has brought us to Himself as His own possession, pouring out His mercy (lovingkindness) and showing us His constant compassion and grace.

This is what this time of year is all about and it is what every moment should be about: We, who are miserable wretches deserving death and eternal destruction, have been
redeemed by the only One who could righteously bear the wrath that we deserve. We, who are unable to save ourselves or satisfy our deepest desires, are offered eternal rescue and satisfaction. Love so amazing and so divine! If He had allowed us escape from the Pit that would be much more than we deserve; yet, He has also poured out His lovingkindness and compassion in our lives and promised us everything we need for life and godliness!

Have you tasted and seen that the LORD is good? Have you experienced the rescue of your soul from sin and death? Are you enjoying the benefits of being a child of God? Then praise Him with all that you are and have! Let all that is within us praise Him! And live with His goodness constantly in mind, protecting your heart from distraction and dread. Oh how good it is to sing praise to the LORD!
