Let Your Light So Shine

March 17th, 2021 – Wednesday Late Morning

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” ~Matthew 5:16

Today’s devotional is short, but important. I have already had at least two reminders today (including Mark 16:15) of believers’ responsibility to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are called to a life of surrender, love, and obedience to our perfect Lord and gracious God. As we walk in step with His Spirit, we become channels of His power, love, and light. People need the Lord; without His salvation through Christ, there is no hope now or ever. We are called to tell that Good News with words and by our lives. When we submit ourselves to Him in obedient trust, it allows His light to shine through us to those around us, and our good works (which are really His in and through us) cause those who see them to see God and give Him glory. They are blessed by Him through us, and the darkness is dispelled by the light.

The question, then, is this: Are you shining for Jesus today?
