Worship Service
November 26 @ 10:00 am CST
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday as we gather together, we turn our attention to excerpts from Luke 1 in a sermon titled “Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus – Part 1: Doubt, Delight, Deliverance, & God’s Gracious Gifts”. As we do, we begin an Advent/Christmas sermon series that takes us back to the Christmas story (and beyond) with thanksgiving, joy, conviction, and a sense of urgency. In today’s passage we find Zacharias, Elizabeth, Gabriel, John, and the renewed promises of the coming Messiah. As we unpack some of the specifics of this section of God’s Word, may our hearts be tender to His leading and conviction; may we be humble to hear and obey His instruction, no matter what the cost. Jesus is coming again, and what a privilege we have to wait with obedient anticipation!
November’s Memory Verse:
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.” ~Psalm 19:14
