Worship Service
December 20, 2020 @ 10:00 am CST
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday, we continue our series “Knowing God, Following Jesus, and Living by the power of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God (also dubbed ‘All That Is Within Me’)” by digging into Part 10 – Peace on Earth. This is based in Luke 2:8-20. The emphasis is on the peace that Jesus has brought to earth, both between God and man and between man and man.
This Sunday is also the fourth Sunday of Advent, a special time of waiting and remembering before Christmas and in anticipation of Christ’s return. This fourth Sunday in Advent has the theme of “Peace”.
December’s Memory Verse: “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ~Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
