“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to dig into Isaiah 9:1-7 in a sermon that could be titled “Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus”. In this passage we will see God’s redemptive and powerful plan to bring light into the darkness through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. His people, once so lost and so desperate, will be set free and brought into the light. Jesus is the Son who was given so long ago for the sins of the world, but He lives and reigns on high with the Father today. On top of that, His kingdom will have no end and He will reign forever and ever because of the zeal of the LORD of hosts! May we walk in the light as He is in the light and may we be humble vessels who live with expectation of His glory and power.
December’s Memory Verse: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~Romans 15:13
