“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday, we continue our series “Knowing God, Following Jesus, and Living by the power of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God (also dubbed ‘All That Is Within Me’)” by digging into Part 7 – Dead to Sin, Alive to God. This is based in Romans 6. The emphasis is dying to sin and self and living for God and righteousness.
This Sunday is also the first Sunday of Advent, a special time of waiting and remembering before Christmas and in anticipation of Christ’s return. This first Sunday in Advent has the theme of “Hope”.
November’s Memory Verse: “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” ~Romans 12:3 NKJV
