“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. Our expected passage this week is Ephesians 6:10-20 in a sermon that could be titled “Armored, Equipped, and Dangerous – Standing In the Power and Glory Of the Living God – Part 2”. It is impossible to fathom the infinite depths of the eternal God and the awesome glory of His story, yet we as believers in Jesus have been given a tremendous perspective of it! As we dig into this passage, we will be reminded again of the spiritual battle in which we are engaged as followers of Christ. This battle is not for the faint of heart, but for those who boldly and courageously stand in the power and might of the LORD God. Yet, those who are faint of heart will find His grace sufficient as they take their stand upon Him and His character. We face a terrible foe who seeks to destroy us, but he doesn’t stand a chance to our Captain. Let us cling to Jesus and stand in obedience and faith in the midst of the throe. May He receive the honor and the praise that He so justly deserves!!! [We only were able to get through verse 17-18, so a second part to the sermon continued on November 6th.]
November’s Memory Verse: “Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity.” ~Ephesians 6:24
