“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. Our expected passage this week is Ephesians 6:5-9 in a sermon that could be titled “Slaves & Masters: Serving Christ Together”. As we continue to dive deep in God’s Word, we will be convicted, challenged, and encouraged to serve the Lord Christ regardless of our physical status or position. This passage so clearer reminds us of the reality of the situation: Every believer, whether slave or free, is ultimately under the authority of Jesus. This frees us to live as slaves or free – in those positions and statuses – for His glory, not our own or another’s. May our lives purely and clearly reflect our submission to Him and may the lives of those we are serving be enrich and refreshed by Christ in us, the hope of glory!
October’s Memory Verse: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” ~Ephesians 6:10
