Worship Service

October 1, 2023 @ 10:00 am CDT

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3

What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!

As we continued our way through an extensive series on the Church, we dug into 2 Timothy 3:10-17 this week in a sermon titled “Perseverance, Example, and the Word of God”. In this section of the Word of God, we saw Paul encouraging and challenging Timothy to continue in the things he had learned and seen in those faithful believers he had borne witness to. In addition, Timothy is called to persevere in the face of persecution, knowing that we suffer because Christ suffered here on earth, and, that in spite of the persecution, we can rest in Him, knowing that He will carry us through. Finally, Paul reminded Timothy of the high priority of God’s Word in the life of the believer – it provides the very basis for our worldview and it is effective for reproving, correcting, and training the believer for full service to the King in every way. May the Word of God be used by God to grow us and transform us more and more into the likeness of Christ. Soli Deo Gloria (for the glory of God alone)!

October’s Memory Verse:

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” ~2 Timothy 3:16-17
