“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we continue our journey through Samuel with 1 Samuel 26 & Psalm 54 in a sermon that could be titled “The Sovereignty of God and the Foolishness of Man – The LORD Is My Confidence”. In a similar story to chapter 24, David again spares Saul’s life and reveals that his hope and trust are in the LORD alone. Instead of taking matters into his own hands, even at the urging of one of his own men, David reiterated the fact that the LORD was still in charge and that he would honor Him. As we journey through these passages, may we be wholeheartedly dependent on the LORD as our confidence and may He be glorified in our thoughts, words, and actions.
September’s Memory Verse: “I will freely sacrifice to You; I will praise Your name, O Lord, for it is good.” ~Psalm 54:6
