Worship Service
September 12, 2021 @ 10:00 am CDT
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we continue our journey through Samuel with 1 Samuel 24 in a sermon that could be titled “The Sovereignty of God and the Foolishness of Man – The LORD Is Judge”. In this passage, we see that David relied on the LORD and refused to take matters into his own hands. Rather than striking down the wicked man who pursued him without cause, David acted with integrity, mercy, and an attitude that revealed his allegiance to and trust in the Lord. May we lean not on our own understanding (and perspective) and may our hope, security, and rest be found in Christ alone.
September’s Memory Verse: “I will freely sacrifice to You; I will praise Your name, O Lord, for it is good.” ~Psalm 54:6
