“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
We continued working our way through 2 Timothy 2:1-13 and our series on the Church by taking a closer look at this passage in a sermon titled “Rise Up, O Men of God – Embracing the High Calling of God in Christ Jesus”. This passage, part of Paul’s second (and last) recorded letter to Timothy, gives some special instructions regarding the life of a believer: Our lives belong to Jesus, so we must expect and embrace hardship; we must endure as a good soldier who seeks to please his Captain; we must remember Jesus Christ who is raised from the dead, that God’s Word is not chained, and that those who walk with Him now will live with Him forever.
September’s Memory Verse:
“Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” ~2 Timothy 2:22
