“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to have an outdoor worship service with baptisms, and a church picnic with yard games at Bob & Amy S.’s house! Contact us for more info.
The sermon for the service could be titled: “Dead to Sin, Alive to God – Raised to Newness of Life” It is based in Ezekiel 37, Acts 8:26-40, and Romans 6. The theme is how believers were dead in sin, but are no longer; rather, we have been raised to the newness of life in Christ. Just as the dead bones were brought to life by the LORD in Ezekiel’s day, so we have been made alive for the glory of God. May we live as slaves of righteousness to God and find in Him the abundant and everlasting life that He has given us in the Lord Jesus!
August’s Memory Verse: “Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” ~Psalm 61:1-2
