August 20 @ 10:00 am CDT
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
As we continue in our larger series on the Church, we dug into 2 Timothy 1:8-18 with a sermon titled “Guard The Treasure”. In this passage we are reminded of the suffering that Paul was enduring and that Timothy was encouraged to embrace. This suffering is not for aught, but due to an unwavering devotion to Christ and His gospel. Timothy was exhorted to join in the suffering, to hold fast to the sound words in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus, and to guard the deposit entrusted to him. These encouragements are ours as well; we need to prioritize and re-prioritize our lives according to the treasure entrusted to us – knowing and serving the Lord Christ. May God get the glory and may our hearts be tender to the Spirit’s continued work in our lives.
WE ARE MEETING OFF-SITE THIS SUNDAY FOR OUR CHURCH PICNIC. WE ARE NOT MEETING FOR ANY STUDY, SERVICE, OR FELLOWSHIP AT THE CHURCH BUILDING. PLEASE CONTACT US FOR THE ADDRESS OF THE OFF-SITE LOCATION.
August’s Memory Verse:
“Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.” ~2 Timothy 1:13
