“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. Our expected passage this week is Ephesians 4:30-5:1 in a sermon titled “Dear Imitators of God – Part 1”. As we jump into this section of God’s Word, we cannot help but be convicted, challenged, and encouraged to surrender more fully to Christ and engage our lives with a different perspective. We, as God’s dear children, have been called and equipped to live as “copycats” of our Heavenly Father – imitating Him in love, forgiveness, holiness, and passion. May our hearts be open to His Spirit’s work and our minds tender to His Word. May He get all the glory in His Body that He deserves!
August’s Memory Verse: “Therefore, be imitators of God as dear children.” ~Ephesians 5:1
