Worship Service
August 8, 2021 @ 10:00 am CDT
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to jump into 1 Samuel 21 & Psalm 34 in a sermon that could be titled “The Sovereignty of God and the Foolishness of Man – The LORD Is Merciful”. As we study these passages, we will see the foolishness and wickedness of David as he lies and connives his way out of two different situations. Yet, the LORD is merciful to David and rescues him in his distress. This leads to the exploration of and the answer to the question: “What is the right response to the LORD’s mercy?”
August’s Memory Verse: “Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” ~Psalm 61:1-2
