Worship Service
August 7, 2022 @ 10:00 am CDT
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. Our passage this week was Ephesians 4:25-32. The sermon could be titled “Reflecting the Newness of Life In Christ Together”. In this passage of God’s Word, we saw many practical implications of our identity as the Body of Christ. Some of those implications included the command to be truthful, to be serious about dealing with sin, and to be careful in our speech. While we covered the whole passage, we plan to dig deeper in the latter part of it next Sunday. As we were in the midst of our study, we were challenged to apply God’s Word to our moment by moment lives and get serious about honoring Him (and each other) in the nitty-gritties. May He be glorified!
August’s Memory Verse: “Therefore, be imitators of God as dear children.” ~Ephesians 5:1
