Worship Service
August 6 @ 10:00 am CDT
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
As we continue in our series on the Church, we plan to jump into Titus 3 in a sermon titled “Do You Believe? – The Priority Of Good Works ~ Part 2”. In this chapter we find several practical instructions that are rooted in the reality of the gospel message. Paul reminds Titus of the truth of God’s love and kindness towards us; we did not deserve His mercy, but He has poured it out by washing and renewing us through the power of the Holy Spirit whom He has given to us. Because we are now heirs “according to the hope of eternal life”, we are now to set our hearts on maintaining good works for the glory of God; because we believe in God, we must be careful to engage in and give attention to the good works He has prepared for us to do. These good works are not high and lofty dreams and goals, but the practical outworking of God’s Spirit at work in us. May He get all the glory He deserves as we set our hearts on obedience as vessels for His honor!
August’s Memory Verse:
“Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.” ~2 Timothy 1:13
