Worship Service
August 1, 2021 @ 10:00 am CDT
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to jump into 1 Samuel 20 in a sermon that could be titled “The Sovereignty of God and the Foolishness of Man – Who Do You Trust?”. In this chapter we see the loyalty of Jonathan to the man who ultimately took his place as king – David; we also see Saul’s jealousy and anger, and David’s human attempts to protect himself from Saul. Over and above all of that, the LORD preserves David, thwarts Saul’s evil plans, and enables Jonathan to be a good friend to David.
We plan to be outside THIS Sunday for the 10:00am worship service!
August’s Memory Verse: “Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” ~Psalm 61:1-2
