Worship Service

July 24, 2022 @ 10:00 am CDT

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3

What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!

This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. Our expected passage this week is Ephesians 4:17-24 in a sermon that could be titled “Christ Learned = Off with the Old, On with the New”. As we jump into this section of God’s Word, we will have the opportunity to be reminded again (or to hear for the first time) of our new identity in Christ Jesus. We will be challenged and exhorted to leave the old paths of sin and to walk in the newness of life in the Spirit. As we do, may our hearts be tender to Him; may we throw off the self (the old man) and its ways and put on the new man (with righteousness and holiness) for the glory of God. May He be honored in our every thought, word, and deed!

July’s Memory Verse: “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” ~Ephesians 4:1-3
