Worship Service
June 11 @ 10:00 am CDT
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we hope to continue our series on the Church by digging into 1 Timothy 6:11-21. This sermon is titled “Great Danger, Great Cost, & Great Reward”. In this conclusion to Paul’s first letter to Timothy, we are confronted by the serious nature of our faith; this is seen in at least three different ways: Great danger, great cost, and great reward. The great danger is found in getting side-tracked and consumed by empty chatter instead of pursing godliness to the very end; the great cost is seen in how believers are to count all things as loss compared to Christ; and, finally, the great reward of seeing Christ the Lord face-to-face awaits those who persevere in righteousness, godliness, etc. until His return. May we be found faithful to Him – pursuing Him and His way over the worthless and debased snares of self – and may He receive all the glory He is so worthy of!
June’s Memory Verse:
“But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.” ~1 Timothy 6:11
