Worship Service
June 4 @ 10:00 am CDT
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we continued in our series on the Church by jumping into 1 Timothy 6:11 in a sermon titled “Flee & Pursue – The High Calling of God”. As we studied this passage together, it is clear that Paul is urging Timothy to live a life worthy of the Lord: Timothy was to flee the worldly, self-centered thinking of the flesh and instead pursue the things of God – righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. As we break each of these qualities down, we realize just how far short of God’s desires we often fall; rather than lead us to self-loathing and guilt, however, it should cause us to look and lean more and more on He who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or imagine. He is able to work in and through us if we will humbly submit to His authority and indwelling. May we be faithful to apply His Word to our hearts and may He get all the glory and the honor and the praise! Soli Deo Gloria!
June’s Memory Verse:
“But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.” ~1 Timothy 6:11
