“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
We plan to continue our series on the Church by digging into 1 Timothy 6:1-10. This sermon is titled “Godliness With Contentment – Resting In the Everlasting God”. The instruction found in these verses remind us of the ongoing battle between the truth of God and the lies of the world, the flesh, and the devil. God’s truth calls us to humility, godliness, and contentment, while our flesh, the world around us, and the enemy of our souls all call us to greed, pride, and discontentment. As we humble our hearts before the Lord and His Word, may His way be had in our lives; may we pursue godliness with our whole being and find our faithful God to be all-sufficient for our every need!
May’s Memory Verse:
“Now godliness with contentment is great gain.” ~1 Timothy 6:6
