Worship Service
May 22, 2022 @ 10:00 am CDT
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. Our passage this week is Ephesians 3:1-7 in a sermon that could be titled “The Mystery of Christ – Fellow Heirs, Members of One Body, and Partakers of the Promise of God”. As we jump into this section of God’s Word, we will be confronted by Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus and an apostle to the Gentiles. Paul hits the ground running in Chapter 3; he has already laid a solid argument for the unity of the Church, but now he takes it a step further by elaborating on the reality of the mystery of Christ. This mystery is profound and amazing – the Gentiles were to be included in the promise in Christ through the gospel! Not as lesser members or inferior saints, but as fellow heirs and partakers! PRAISE THE LORD!!! We who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ! We get to receive the abundant grace of God and partake in the awesome promises of God in Christ just as the Jews, God’s chosen people! Thank You, Father!
May’s Memory Verse: “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” ~Ephesians 2:13
