Worship Service

May 21 @ 10:00 am CDT

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3

What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!

As we get back into our series on the Church, our passage is 1 Timothy 5:17-25 in a sermon titled “Honor, Caution, and Truth – God Is The Witness and The Judge”. The qualifications for elders were listed earlier in Paul’s letter to Timothy, but here we find some further instructions that deal with their conduct and selection. This section of God’s Word reminds us of the importance of maintaining purity and integrity within the Body of Christ; its leadership must be carefully and cautiously selected and approved, yet it must also be honored for what it really is – elders are servants of the Lord Jesus Christ who are chosen to serve His Church. As we dig into this passage, may our hearts be tender to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit; may God be glorified in His Church as we diligently and obediently apply His Word. He is worthy of all honor!

May’s Memory Verse:

“Now godliness with contentment is great gain.” ~1 Timothy 6:6
