“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. Our passage this week is Ephesians 2:19-22 in a sermon that could be titled “The Church of Jesus Christ – A Holy Dwelling Place of God”. As we dig into this short section of Scripture, it is apparent that we who are in Christ have been called and chosen to be part of an awesome and magnificent building – The Church of the Living God. This spiritual building is unlike any other; it is filled with those who once were strangers and foreigners, yet are now fellow citizens, saints, and members of the household of God. This building is ever growing into a holy temple – a dwelling place – of God in the Spirit. What an awesome privilege we have in Christ! May our lives teem with His praise and may they pour forth His worship in holiness, purity, and the unity of the Spirit.
May’s Memory Verse: “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” ~Ephesians 2:13
