Worship Service

May 12 @ 10:00 am CDT

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3

What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!

This Sunday we take some time to celebrate our mothers, and to thank God (and our mothers, if possible) for their sacrifices and investments in our lives. As we turn to God’s Word, we plan to dive into 1 Samuel 1:1-2:11 and take a closer look at the life and attitude of Hannah, the mother of Samuel, in a sermon titled “The Confident Faith of A Mother: The LORD of Hosts is Gracious & Holy”. Hannah responded to her predicament by crying out the LORD for His compassionate intervention; upon hearing Eli’s blessing of her request before the LORD, Hannah’s attitude changed from one of sad desperation to that of peaceful rest. Hannah’s request was indeed granted by the LORD, and her vow to Him was fulfilled in the giving of young Samuel to the LORD’s service. In her prayer of praise, Hannah rejoices in the LORD’s character and exalts Him for His wonderful works. May our hearts be encouraged by Hannah’s trust, emboldened by the LORD’s compassion and care for His people, and empowered by His Spirit to trust Him in and for the places He has put us. He is indeed the LORD of Hosts and His name is to be praised!

May’s Memory Verse:

No one is holy like the LORD,
For there is none besides You,
Nor is there any rock like our God.
” ~1 Samuel 2:2
