Worship Service

May 1, 2022 @ 10:00 am CDT

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3

What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!

This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. Our passage this week is Ephesians 2:11-18 in a sermon that could be titled “Once Far Off, Now Given Access”. In our study of this section of God’s Word, we will be reminded of our desperate and hopeless condition before Christ; we will remember how we have been brought near to the Father (and to each other) through the blood of Christ; and, we will have the opportunity to be encouraged and challenged as we recall and realize that we have been given access – together with God’s people from every background – to the Father in one Spirit. PRAISE THE LORD that He has reconciled us to Himself and to each other!!! May our lives reflect the reality that we have been brought near and may our hearts overflow with the power of God’s Spirit and with humble gratitude!

May’s Memory Verse: “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” ~Ephesians 2:13
