Worship Service

April 30 @ 10:00 am CDT

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3

What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!

As we come off the excitement, reflection, and joy of Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Resurrection Sunday, we may have a tendency to have a let down. Just like Christmas, the special celebrations are over and “real life” has set back in…pretty sad, huh? It is! As we dig into God’s Word this morning, we may be in for a real shocker; our passage is Isaiah 29:13-16 with some surrounding context in a sermon titled “Draw Near to God and He Will Draw Near to You”. This passage, originally directed at Israel in its rebellion against the LORD, is quite applicable to us today; the tendency to vacillate between high and low, sincere and lackadaisical, and soft and hard is natural to the human flesh, but it is not the way of the LORD. As we are reminded of God’s words to His people so long ago, may our hearts be tender to His rebuke of our own self-centeredness. May we be encouraged to honor Him truly – not just with our mouths – and may His praise be the theme of our lives!

April’s Memory Verse:

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.’” ~Matthew 28:18
