Worship Service

February 26 @ 10:00 am CST

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3

What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!

This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. Our expected passage this week is 1 Timothy 3:14-4:5 in a sermon titled “The Mystery of Godliness and the Dangers of Neglecting It”. In this section of God’s Word, we see the greater picture of the instructions we have covered thus far – it is for protection, for God’s glory, and for truth itself. Paul contrasts the mystery of godliness and how the Church functions in accordance with it to the debauchery and apostacy that comes with rejecting the lifestyle that accords with godliness. As we study and apply this passage, may we be gratefully humble and intentionally obedient. May the name of Christ be adored and lifted high by His redeemed saint, and may the Church be emboldened to live for His glory alone!

February’s Memory Verse:

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory.” ~1 Timothy 3:16
