Worship Service

February 19 @ 10:00 am CST

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3

What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!

This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. We plan to dig into 1 Timothy 3:8-13 this week in a sermon that could be titled “Deacons – Servants of the Living God”. While there are many similarities to the qualifications necessary for elders, the list of characteristics and prerequisites for deacons also contains some other specific instructions. Again, while these may only specifically apply to those who are being chosen for deacons, the godliness and holiness which is commanded is for the entire Body of Christ. May we be careful not to neglect these instructions – knowing that they are not only for our own good, but even more importantly, they are what God desires and commands for His Church. May He be glorified in us and throughout the entire earth!

February’s Memory Verse:

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory.” ~1 Timothy 3:16
