“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to jump into a new sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. We start with Ephesians 1:1-10 and a sermon that could be titled “A Plan and A Purpose Far Greater Than Mere Humanity”. We plan to unpack some of the wonderful truths of the Gospel and how God has given us MUCH in Christ. We will see the infinite spiritual wealth that we are entitled to as His children and we will be challenged to live as the holy and blameless saints that He has chosen us to be. At the last, we will be reminded again and again of the preeminent and awesome plan of the Father – that of bringing all things under the Lordship and into the unity of Christ. May we have tender and humble hearts before Him!
We actually only were able to get through verse 6, so this will be a two-part sermon.
February’s Memory Verse: “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according the riches of His grace.” ~Ephesians 1:7
