Worship Service

February 5 @ 10:00 am CST

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3

What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!

This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. Our expected passage this week is 1 Timothy 2:8-15 in a sermon that could be titled “The Power of the Gospel – A Transformed Life”. As we jump into this section of God’s Word, we see some very specific and intense instructions for both men and women in the Body of Christ. While our culture (and flesh) attempt to mold and shape men and women into fluff – redefining, confusing, and twisting the roles, responsibilities, and worth that God has instituted – God restated His desire (through Paul) for us and for the glory of His name. As we relearn and refocus, may we have humble, tender, hearts to the Lord and His will. May the Body of Christ be encouraged and grown in maturity, and may the name of God be glorified in our midst!

February’s Memory Verse:

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory.” ~1 Timothy 3:16
