Worship Service

January 29 @ 10:00 am CST

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3

What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!

This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. Today we hope to dive into 1 Timothy 2:1-7 in a sermon that could be titled “Trusting the Lord Above All Else”. In this section of 1 Timothy, we are reminded of our need for prayer – absolute and utter dependence on the King of Kings. We need to live in the attitude and action of prayer, not only because it is commanded of us, but also because it enables us to live in such a way that honors God and furthers His kingdom. This begins with praying for all men – rulers, leaders, and everyone else – and ends with living a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is the life that is pleasing to God our Savior. May we have open hearts and minds as we study God’s Word; may we be humble and teachable, giving Him the attention and trust He absolutely deserves!

January’s Memory Verse: “The LORD sat enthroned at the Flood, and the LORD sits as King forever.” ~Psalm 29:10
