Worship Service
January 22 @ 10:00 am CST
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. This week we plan to jump into 1 Timothy 1:12-20 in a sermon that could be titled “Mercy, Redemption, and A Life That Reflects the Grace of God”. In this passage we see how Paul uses his own redemption as an example of God’s great mercy; God’s abundant grace was poured out on, in, and through Paul as an example of the rich mercy God desires to show all men through Christ Jesus. Paul’s lavish praise of God is not undue Him; rather, believers ought to live lives that accord with His grace and goodness. We also see a strong warning in this passage to believers to be careful not to live an impure and faithless life; to do so equals blasphemy and will lead to shipwreck. As we dig into this section of God’s Word, the Bible, may we be challenged and equipped to live in such a way as to reflect the glory and grace of God! May He receive all the praise the He is so worthy of!
January’s Memory Verse: “The LORD sat enthroned at the Flood, and the LORD sits as King forever.” ~Psalm 29:10
