Worship Service

January 16 @ 10:00 am CST

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3

What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!

This Sunday we continue our look at Matthew 2 by digging into verses 12-23 in a sermon that could be titled “The Sovereignty of God, the Foolishness of Man, and the Importance of Obedience No Matter What”. In this passage, we find that God intervenes four different times: Once with the magi and three times with Joseph – to protect His Son, to fulfill His Word, and to accomplish His purposes despite the wicked foolishness of Herod. As we meditate on and study these verses, may our hearts be humbled before the LORD God and may His will be done in and through us. He is so wise and we, in our humanness, are so foolish. Praise Him for adopting us and giving us His Word and Spirit!

January’s Memory Verse: “For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.” ~Hebrews 12:3
