“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
This Sunday we plan to continue our sermon series about the Church; Lord willing, in this series we will cover the cause and the purpose of the Church, its structure and integrity, its purity and its power, and the roles and responsibilities of men and women. Our expected passage this week is 1 Timothy 1:1-11 in a sermon that could be titled “Clinging to and Communicating Only the True Gospel”. In this introduction and beginning of Paul’s first letter to Timothy, we will be reminded of both Paul and Timothy’s character and place in God’s story; we will be challenged to be faithful to the truth of the gospel, and we will be equipped to rejoice again in Christ Jesus, our hope. May God be glorified, may we be purified, and may the name of Christ be lifted high throughout the whole earth!
January’s Memory Verse: “The LORD sat enthroned at the Flood, and the LORD sits as King forever.” ~Psalm 29:10
