“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!
We plan to continue in a mini-series on communication this Sunday with a sermon titled: “Quick to Hear – The Key to Communication”. This message, based in Psalm 19:14 & James 1:19-25 (with other passages referenced), builds on the heart issues addressed last Sunday by pointing us to the key for good and godly communication – A listening ear that truly hears and does the Word of God. So often, our communication with each other mirrors our communication with God: Instead of listening to Him and doing what He says, we speak to Him and expect Him to give heed to us. In the same way, we ought not to just speak to each other and expect the other to listen; rather, we should listen to each other and be careful to act in accordance with what we have heard – from each other and from the Lord. May our hearts be humble before the Lord and may we be quick to respond to His conviction as we hear His Word.
January’s Memory Verse:
“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” ~Colossians 3:17
