Worship Service

January 7 @ 10:00 am CST

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3

What a privilege to come and worship the Great I Am together! While every service isn’t exactly the same, we usually have some opening Scripture, announcements, a memory verse, singing, prayer requests and prayer time, and a sermon from God’s Word. May the Lord draw each one closer to Himself and work in powerful ways through His Spirit and Word!

As we conclude our Advent series, we plan to take a look at Matthew 2 in a sermon titled “Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus – Part 5 – The Joy, the Hope, the Life, & the King”. In this section of God’s Word, we see very different responses to the King of Kings: Humility and devotion, pride and anger, trust and obedience, joy and adoration, etc. These responses reflect the hearts of those in whom we see them; in turn, our response to the coming King of Kings also reflects our hearts. Do we live in humble, grateful, and grace-filled obedience and devotion to our Savior and Lord? Are we preparing our hearts to receive Him when He returns in glory or to stand before Him as the Judge and Justifier? As we begin a new year filled with many of the same issues, trials, and pains of the old year, may we turn our attention to the One who loves us so well and for whom we long to see! May our lives be overflowing with His joy, His peace, His grace, and His mercy – and may He be glorified in all the earth!

January’s Memory Verse:

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” ~Colossians 3:17
